Financial Literacy
We know why financial literacy is important: the core concepts – how to spend, save and borrow, how to invest and accumulate wealth – promote financial independence. Why we teach financial literacy is just as important as what we teach. We need to invest in education for youths in underserved communities to develop this skill set. Financial literacy empowers communities. It will lead to a stronger and more educated workforce, which translates into a lower crime rate, and less stress in our lives. In financially capable communities, everyone benefits.
